Holidays in Postal & Gargazzone
Postal - GargazzoneThe holiday village Postal (Burgstall) lies at 270 m above sea level in the lowlands of the river Adige. Due to its vicinity to Merano, Postal is an ideal holiday resort that enables you to hike and also visit Merano in short time. The chapel, steeple and choir of the erstwhile church of The Three Magi with the attached parish church Holy Cross is worth a visit. The Three Magi panel in the church is from the famous painter Dill Riemenschneider. The only animal museum in South Tyrol can be found in Postal. Many paths go through the surrounding apple fields and a cycle track along the Adige riverbank takes you to Bolzano. A modern cable car transports hikers to Verano in a few minutes, an ideal starting point for excursions in the sun. The holiday village Gargazzone (Gargazon) at 276 meters above sea level is a friendly village in the fertile landscape at the beginning of the Val d’Adige valley. The church S. Jakob and the keep of the ruin Kröllburg are worth visiting. Gargazzone offers many recreational and cultural facilities. In the springtime the Val d’Adige valley becomes a sea of blossoms, a unique experience on foot or by bike. Many well marked paths enable great excursions in the surroundings and easy but also long hikes without large differences in altitude. |
