San Genesio (Jenesien) lies in the heart of South Tyrol, at 1.080 m above sea level. It is situated at the southern foothills of the mount Monzoccolo, a low range mountain landscape that extends itself between the Val d’Adige valley in the west, the basin of Bolzano in the south and the Val Sarentino valley in the east.

The holiday village has a magnificent view onto South Tyrol’s mountain world, the lowlands and the city of Bolzano that is only 10 km away.
Bolzano can be reached on a beautiful panoramic road or by cable car in only a few minutes. The old city of Bolzano is definetely worth a visit, to stroll through the centre, have a coffee in one of the nice cafes or to go shopping in some of the many shops.

The area around San Genesio is ideal for easy hiking tours or long excursions with little difference in height. It has many beautiful walking paths and hiking trails.

The main cultural attractions are the parish church, the ruin Greifenstein, also named “Sow Castle” (Sauschloss) and the splendid single farmyards, that partly have thatched barn roofs.
