Valle Isarco
Holidays in Racines in Valle Isarco
RacinesThe picturesque Racines valley (Ratschingstal) at a height of 1.280 m above sea level offers a spectacle of nature right at the beginning when you enter the valley: a torrent brakes the marble rocks of the ravine Gilfenklamm. The ravine can be walked along on a secured steep track, an adventure for the whole family. The snow-white marble of the area was for example used to construct Castle Schönbrunn in Vienna, the marble quarry can also be visited. Since 1996 the Hunting and Fishing Museum is housed in the castle Wolfsthurn. This Baroque castle that is enthroned on a hill above Mareta has more to offer than only interesting things for hunters and fishermen... Further back in the valley we find the ski resort Racines-Giovo, it belongs to the most modern snow resorts in South Tyrol where the snow is assured: 25 km of slopes and a nice toboggan/sledge run guarantee fun for the entire family. In summer hiking trails and mountain bike tracks lead you through the unique nature of the Racines valley. |
