The project “South Tyrol for all“ as the official website for accessible tourism in South Tyrol. – www.hotel.bz.it – was started in spring 2002 and terminated at the end of the year 2003. In order to carry out the project and the therefore necessary analysis and technical surveys, appropriate survey sheets were elaborated. The aim hereby was to plan and develop an appropriate instrument for the survey and evaluation of the accessibility of holiday accommodations and hotels in South Tyrol: barrier free hotels, pensions suitable for wheelchairs, guesthouses suitable for wheelchairs, holiday flats adapted to the needs of disabled people, holiday houses suitable for people in wheelchairs, barrier free holiday on a farm, family friendly hostels, camping sites for all in South Tyrol, barrier free restaurants, accessible sights and accessible public transport in South Tyrol. The survey sheets had to take into account the regulations in force regarding the accessibility of buildings and the gradual elimination of architectonic barriers, they were completed by information on the hotels, like for example on prices and offers, board and opening hours, connection to public transport, distance from the centre, tourist sights in the surroundings, etc.
