Train station of Malles (Mals)

The train station of Malles is the terminal station of the Val Venosta valley railway and is very accessible, it also has a toilet accessible for disabled people. The train track from the station of Sluderno to this terminal station amounts to 3,7 km. The village centre lies slightly above the station, at a distance of approx. 500 m. Right in front of the station you will find a bike rental and various bus stops of the SAD lines 100 (Merano - Malles), 101 (Merano - Silandro - Malles), 101a (Citybus Malles), 101b (Nauders - Vallelunga - Malles), 102 (Solda - Stelvio - Spondinga - Glorenza - Malles), 103 (Mazia - Malles), 106 (Malles - Zernez) and the Route Express line Engadino - Merano. Switzerland can be reached in 10 km from here and Austria in 20 km. Malles lies at 1050 m above sea level and is main village of the upper Val Venosta valley. Its picturesque aspect is given by the Romanesque towers of the ruins of the castle Fröhlich, the Middle Age churches of St. Benedict, St. Johann and St. Martin and by the beautiful walled gardens and lanes. The centre has many nice shops. Above Burgusio that is a few kilometres away from Malles, the Benedictine convent Monte Maria is enthroned, it is definitely worth visiting. The ski and hiking area Watles is close by. Paths and cross country skiing runs lead you through the surroundings, crossing meadows and forests. The sport centre of Malles has an outdoor and indoor swimming pool that is accessible for disabled people and it offers a bowling run and indoor and outdoor tennis courts.
