Train station of Naturno (Naturns)

The station of Naturno is very accessible and has a bike rental. From the station of Plaus to the station of Naturno the train covers a distance of about 3,3 km. The platform itself is situated in the village outskirts, but the centre of Naturno Close to the (520 m a.s.l.) can be reached very easlily in approx. 400 m on a quite even footpath. train station the SAD bus stop of the line 101 (Merano - Silandro - Malles) is situated and also the line 105 going into the Val Senales valley can easily be reached by a well accessible ramp.
The Val Senales valley is famous for its glacier, the typical farm houses made of wood and the man from the ice "Ötzi". The habitat of the man from the ice is presented in the didactical museum Archeopark.
Naturno is a nice holiday resort with various recreational activities in the vicinity of the train station: the well accessible adventure indoor swimming pool, the Nature Park House Gruppo di Tessa and the cable car of the sunny mountain Monte Sole (Sonnenberg) of Naturno and a jogging path that starts from the train station bridge. The Nature Park House Monte di Tessa is especially interesting for children and offers a lot of interesting facts about the Monte di Tessa area. The entrance is free.
Regarding art history, Naturno is famous for the frescos of the St. Procolus church, dating back to the 8th century, they are the oldest frescos in the German speaking area. A museum on the history of the church offers visitors a diversified multi-medial journey through time.
The panoramic path along the sunny mountain Monte Sole (Sonnenberg) is very beautiful and gives an insight into the unique flora of the mountain. The path goes from the train station, through the villages, up to the castle above Naturno and then goes along to Rablà and Parcines until the train station Tel Ponte. The path is an easy walk for the whole family with a walking time of about 3 hours and it is well signposted.
