Train station of Tel Ponte (Töll Brücke)
|
The train station of Tel Ponte is well accessible, but the platform has no boarding aid that like at all the other train stations of the Val Venosta valley, reduces the distance between the railway carriage and the platform. The distance from the station of Marlengo to this train station is just about 7 km by train. The station of Tel is especially used by Parcines, although the village centre lies over 100 m above, on a sunny hillside and is therefore about 1,5 km away from the station.
Crossing the bridge from the platform you reach the Val Venosta valley cycle and walking path on the other side of the river, in a few minutes walk, you also reach the SAD line 101 (Merano - Silandro - Malles), the tourist busses Naturno-Plaus-Parcines and the bus to the Marlinger Waalweg path. Guests of the holiday resorts Naturno, Plaus and Parcines can use the tourist bus for free (tourist pass are available from your host).
The villages Tel (508 m a.s.l.) and Parcines (642 m a.s.l.) lie at the entrance of the Val Venosta valley. Historic manors, tight lanes and cafes with sun terraces give Tel its picturesque character.
To commemorate Peter Mitterhofer, the inventor of the typewriter, Parcines established a museum. The 2000 exhibits offer an extensive insight into the history of the development of the typewriter, starting from the invention of the typewriter by Peter Mitterhofer in the year 1864, up until today.
Worthwhile a visit is also the Parcines waterfall, it is one of the most impressive waterfalls of the Alpine area. Also the legend path of Parcines (Partschinser Sagenweg) is very interesting, it is a circular walk taking you past pre-historic settlements and cult sites. The "Waal“ of Lagundo, an old irrigation canal for vineyards and orchards deviates from the river Adige at Tel. From the beautiful "Algunder Waalweg" path you can walk along to the Tappeiner Promenade in about 11/2 hours.
