Holidays in Valdaora in Val Pusteria

Valdaora

The holiday village Valdaora (Olang) lies at 1.047 m above sea level in a wide basin, surrounded by Plan de Corones, the Dolomites with the peaks Piz da Peres, Punta Tre Dita, Hochalpenkopf and Brunstriedel.

In the north the Valle d’Anterselva valley opens up, towards south we have the Furcia Pass (Passo Furcia).
In the Val di Furcia valley the aerial cable cabin connects Valdaora with the famous ski resort Plan de Corones.  Due to this direct connection to Plan de Corones, also Valdaora is a ideal holiday resort for a skiing holiday in South Tyrol and is ideal in summer for hikes with good views.
Valdaora itself has become famous because of the artificial toboggan run and the world championship that was carried out in the bob discipline.

The bath Bergfall made its name around the turn of the century as a therapeutic bath. Further sights are the church St. Jakob in Nasen, the church St. Cassian in Perca with Christophorus drawn by Simon von Taisten, the famous painter who also drew this patron for travellers on the exterior wall of the church St. Jakob in Sorafurcia. The path to the church starts from Valdaora di Mezzo and passes one of the nicest shrines in South Tyrol.
