Alpe di Rodengo high plateau

Starting point

From Bolzano follow the Brennero motorway up to Bressanone - Varna. Continue along the road of the Val Pusteria valley to Rio Pusteria, where you turn onto the road to Rodengo. Climb up to fractions Gifen - Nauders and follow the signs to the Alpe di Rodengo, you reach the car park at 1750 m .

A pleasant walk on a forest road that leads to an extensive Alpine area overlooking the valley of Bressanone and the Valle Isarco valley. The landscape of the Dolomites is magnificent: Sass da Putia, Odle of Eores and Funes etc.
Some huts offer refreshments.

Description

Just above the car park , the forest road starts to the east with a moderate climb (bypassable barrier). The road winds through sparse forests of spruce and larch and emerges on the vast pastures of the Alpe di Luson. At the crossroad follow the sign for Malga Roner (1832 m) on the right; continue on flat ground between pastures studded with wooden huts until you reach refuge Campoforte . If you want to go on, always on forest road, wander to the southern slopes of Giogo d'Asta and follow the wide pastures until you reach the huts of Alpe di Campiglio (2044 m) . Follow the same itinerary to get back to the car park.
