| | |
A travel through time in the Vintschger Museum in Schluderns!
"Wasserwosser": The visitor receives an ample explanation of the centuries-old and very carefully planned irrigation system in the Vinschgau valley, which has relatively little rain.
"Ancient Vinschgau valley" - The Archaeology of a Valley. Since ancient times the Vinschgau valley has been a passage from north to south and from west to east and there are many archaeological traces of this. The occasionally sensational discoveries, such as the "Ganglegg" one, are very well documented in this show.
As an "Excursion in the past" the Vintschger Museum is offeringguided tours to the "Ganglegg" a prehistoric settlement of the Bronze and Iron Ages and also of Roman timeswhich is 40 minutes on foot from the museum and from the Churburg.
Since 1997 archaeological digging has been going on and because of the unique discoveries (fortifications, various well-preserved buildings) an archaeology park is being built at the "Ganglegg".
